When and why did you decide to join this company/firm? OR When and why did you decide to start your own company?
I began this company in 2009 so that I could provide service to my clients the way I wanted to.
How does your business serve the local community?
We strive to educate individuals on accounting issues as well as provide superior service. As a smaller firm, we offer personalized service at a reasonable rate.
Please share one of the greatest moments you’ve experienced in your current profession.
My favorite moment was when I had an individual come to me with some big issues that were causing her a lot of stress and when she left my office, she turned and said that a weight had been lifted off of her shoulders.
Tell us about your experience with the HGBA. How has it supported you in your local business?
I have had numerous opportunities to discuss accounting issues with other HGBA members.
What are the top three business tips and tricks can you offer other professionals?
1. Don’t be afraid to ask other professionals for help/advice. 2. Don’t underestimate the power of social media. 3. Enjoy what you do.
Are you from this area? If not, what brought you here and what do you like about our town?
I am from Michigan. My husband got a job out here, so we came. I enjoy the moderate weather and the proximity to the mountains and the city.
What is your favorite season in this area, and why?
Fall, because of the cool, crisp weather.
What are some hobbies you enjoy?
Hiking, gardening, sewing

Stonewall Jackson Boys Lacrosse
Are you involved with any nonprofits? If so, which one(s) and why?
I support Comfort Cases because my friend Terri introduced me to the cause and I want to make a difference in the lives of children. I am a cub scout den leader. I am also active in Coalition to Protect Prince William County because I don’t want to see a utility ruin our countryside and home values
What was your first job, or your most interesting job prior to your current profession?
I was in the Air Force for 21 years. My primary job was as a navigator on the E3 AWACS and the KC-135 tanker.
