Leckner Ford in Marshall provides holiday meals to those in need

Leckner Ford of Marshall

Helping Local Families This Thanksgiving

For the second year in a row, Leckner Ford of Marshall is giving back to the local community. On Thursday, November 16, the dealership’s employees gathered together to partake in this giving back initiative, and assembled all the ingredients necessary to cook a Thanksgiving meal. And in many locations they even deliver the meals directly to the families. Dinners include a frozen turkey, roasting pan, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, and vegetables. This year 21 Marshall families will receive all the food necessary to enjoy a festive meal this holiday.

Sabrina Ican, Leckner’s chief marketing officer and community liaison, said, “In Marshall, we work closely with the Fauquier Community Action Committee Head Start to identify local families who would benefit from one of the Thanksgiving meal baskets. The Marshall residents we are helping this year all live within a very close proximity to Leckner Ford of Marshall, and it is wonderful to have the opportunity to assist them.”

The owner of Leckner dealerships, Carl Leckner, has been providing complete Thanksgiving dinners to local families for several years in all the communities his dealerships are located. This year, the eight dealerships will provide more than 450 families with a Thanksgiving meal. “It’s been a joy each year at Thanksgiving to give back to our local communities,” said Leckner. “I’ve enjoyed offering a complete dinner to families in need each year and am thankful for all of the dealership employees who get involved in this initiative.”

Ican noted that the public school counselors and Head Start counselors are exceptional: “In each of our dealership areas, we witness how the school counselors are tremendously dedicated to their students in the way they follow up with the parents about this Thanksgiving opportunity. At times, the counselors will even make home visits in order to reach the family. Also, some schools maintain food supply pantries and school supply shelves for students who need extra support. We are very thankful for their ongoing commitment to their students!”
