From Covenant Christian Academy in Vint Hill:

Matthew Lunsford, a junior enrolled at Covenant Christian Academy, has qualified to participate in the 2019 National Merit® Scholarship Program. Out of 1.6 million students who took the SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test last year, Matthew’s score places him among the top 50,000 students in the nation. In September, students will be notified if they have been selected as Commended Scholars or Semifinalists.

“We are very proud of Matthew’s academic talent and work ethic,” commented CCA’s College Advisor, Suey Nordberg. Matthew was informed of his qualification for the program on Monday when the Head of School gathered all the members of his class to surprise him with the announcement. “I’m very grateful for the support of all my teachers,” said Matthew of receiving the recognition from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
