Our Library’s Plentiful Education Resources

By Lisa Pavlock, Public Information Coordinator, Fauquier Public Library

August. Its dog days mark summer’s end and the school year’s beginning. Fauquier Public Library, with education-focused resources, can help all ages be successful in the classroom and beyond.

 Birth – Pre-K

Early childhood literacy is the first step to academic success and developing future achievement. Early exposure to literacy builds the foundation for subsequent achievement. It’s never too soon to introduce your child to reading – or to the library!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Track the books your child reads on a 1000 Books Before Kindergarten log. Celebrate reading milestones at the library with stickers and small prizes. Complete 1000 books before the first day of kindergarten to join the Wall of Fame.

Launchpads can build digital literacy in a safe environment and introduce children to language arts, math, science, critical thinking, and life skills.

Story Times to Go
Choose from 35 themes including “All About Me” and “Winter Stories” to take home. Each set includes books, songs, games, and other activities for toddlers and preschoolers.
