Fauquier Health Auxiliary will honor longtime volunteer Robin Corcoran this year
By Robin Earl
The Fauquier Hospital Auxiliary began hosting Lights for Life in 1983, when three Christmas trees were donated by Airlie and planted on Hospital Hill. Each year during the Christmas holiday the trees are illuminated by lights donated by family and friends in memory of, or in honor of someone they wish to remember in a special way. The Fauquier Hospital Auxiliary, Inc. will welcome the 2017 Lights for Life celebration on Wednesday, December 6, at 7 p.m. in the Sycamore Room at Fauquier Hospital. Light refreshments will be served.
The yearly fundraiser honors an Auxiliary volunteer who has contributed their time and talents to both the hospital and the community. The 2017 “Top of the Tree” honoree is Robin Corcoran. This year marks the 20th year Robin has served as an active board member of the Fauquier Hospital Auxiliary. She is a great supporter of the hospital’s pet therapy program and serves as its treasurer. She also serves as the audit committee chairman for the Auxiliary. Robin is also involved in other community activities, including the Fauquier County Republican Committee, and she was an active member of the Cedar Gun Garden Club for many years.
The Fauquier Hospital Auxiliary, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, uses donations to award health-related scholarships and to support five two-day medical camp sessions at Fauquier Hospital. The organization is expanding its support of other nonprofit organizations through a new grant-giving program.
