Warrenton is a giving community! On October 22, The Life Church Warrenton partnered with Kids Around The World to pack 45,000 meals for hungry children in Nicaragua.
Now, the meals are en route to a feeding center in Puerto Cabezas.
In 2012, The Life Church joined with Verbo Church and other organizations to provide construction, funding, and food to build and run the feeding center. When it opened, the feeding center fed 150 children. Today, it provides vitamin-rich meals five days a week for more than 600 children.
The experience was fulfilling and fun for the volunteers:
Trevor Telesz: “It was a great experience, seeing everyone come together so wholeheartedly. It was really easy to rally behind the vision of supporting hundreds of kids. And I was surprised by how fun it was. Not only did it feel good knowing we made a difference, but we had a great time doing it. I got to work alongside people I don’t normally get to connect with.”
Bryant Stokes: “It was fun to see everyone giving back in such a tangible way. We’re literally packing the meals and sending them to Nicaragua.”
Russell Fragar: “The atmosphere was happy, and different teams competed to see who could pack the most food. There was a lot of laughter and people having fun—everyone from kids to retirees and everything inbetween, all together making it work.”
