YHikes! Youth Hike by the Clifton Institute
6712 Blantyre Road, Warrenton | 9am – 12pm

Join this monthly Saturday YHikes! (Youth Hikes). Children ages 6 and older are invited to come along to explore the field station and learn about the animals, fungi and plants that live here. Participants will be outside for most of the morning, but won’t get very far because they will stop often to look at and learn about all the different species that live in Northern Virginia.

Parents are welcome to drop off their child or attend the program. This event is free. Closed-toe – preferably waterproof – shoes or boots, hats, sunscreen, bug spray, and water bottles are recommended.

Cookie Decorating Workshop at Haute Cakes Pastry Shop
7 North Fifth Street, Warrenton | 4 – 7pm

Join participants at the cake studio for a fun afternoon learning all about cookie decorating! Megan and Marisa will lead you in decorating techniques, including flooding and detail work on 1 dozen pre-baked sugar cookies

You will, of course, be able to take home your delicious cookies at the end of the evening to impress your friends! A complimentary glass of wine will be offered to our guests 21 years and older.

Groundcovers/Feed Your Soil to Feed Your Plants hosted by the Teaching Garden: VCE Master Gardeners of PWC

Saturday in the Garden programs are outside and under tents based on the weather also. Please dress for the weather.

Groundcovers for your Landscape: A carpet of vegetation prevents germination of weed, protects the soil from erosion, insulates, provides habitat for beneficial insects and predators, and acts as living mulch.

Feeding Your Soil: A discussion of nutrient management. A healthy soil is vital for a successful vegetable garden, lawn or ornamental planting. Soil is the foundation for plant growth, supplying necessary nutrients while providing spaces to hold air, water and living organisms.

One Hot Mess at the Farm Brewery

Bring your lawn chairs and umbrellas for a great day at The Farm Brewery. One Hot Mess is excited to announce old friend and fiddle player extraordinaire Myron Prosser will be joining them on stage. Myron has played with Heavy Country, Wichita Falls as well as country music recording artist Cleve Francis. You are in for a real treat.

Exchange, donate, or take what you need. Come help yourself, it’s FREE! There will be free clothing available from infants up to high school sizes. The location is in the main lobby.
