Oysters & Beer at Old Bust Head Brewing Company

Grab your friends (or that special someone) and celebrate Valentine’s Day this year at Old Bust Head. Nomini Bay Oyster Ranch, LLC will be on site with fresh raw & charbroiled oysters, shrimp + a menu of chicken sliders & hot dogs (yeah, we’re already hungry.) Flanders Red Ale  – new beer alert – will be served on draft only. Wollam Gardens will be on site with fresh bouquets to treat yourself or your honey. The Candy Drawer Confectionary will be on site with chocolate bonbons & more!

Nothing says love like sharing conversation and enjoying time together over delicious nibbles & tea. Join Simply Desserts for their Valentine’s Day Afternoon Tea, $30/person. The menu includes Cherry Almond Scones with Honey Butter, BLT Sandwich Heart, Brie Fig Basil Crostini, and Strawberry Balsamic Ricotta Crostini, and Chocolate Strawberries, Espresso Truffles, and White Chocolate Raspberry Macarons. Assorted teas are paired with the food.

History Happy Hour: Fauquier Poorhouse History
4110 Winchester Road, Marshall | 5 – 6pm

Join The Fauquier Heritage and Preservation Foundation at the Sinclair Education Center for the 3rd in a series of History Happy Hour talks, which will be delivered by Darryl Jenkins. Learn how and when Poorhouses were established in Virginia, as well as information about their residents. Mr. Jenkins and his wife, Arlene, are spearheading this project to discover and record the names and stories of nearly 300 residents who died at the Poorhouse and are buried in unmarked graves.

The event is free and is open to the public. Refreshments will be provided. Seating is limited so please arrive early.

PSO Young People’s Concert: Romeo and Juliet
597 Broadview Avenue | 3 – 6pm

The timeless love story of Romeo and Juliette is the backdrop to Piedmont Symphony Orchestra’s annual Young People’s Concert. Artwork on this theme created by local students will be illuminated in a slideshow while the PSO performs selections from Sergei Prokofiev’s groundbreaking score to the ballet. This is also PSO’s highly competitive Young Artist’s Competition. Three gifted young instrumentalists will perform alongside the PSO to compete for scholarship prizes! This season, the PSO is delighted to announce that the scholarships will be doubled thanks to a generous grant from The Phillip A. Hughes Foundation.
