Battlefield Theatre is proud to present The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee! Come see one of the six performances with two amazing casts perform this broadway comedy hit about the triumphs and minor tragedies of young people competing in a spelling bee.

2019 1st Fridays: the fun begins!
Old Town Warrenton | 6pm – 9pm

Bring your friends and family out to Old Town Warrenton for 1st Friday! Live music, delicious food, a beer & wine garden, great vendors, and activities for the whole family! Event is on Main Street from 6 pm – 9 pm.

Preschool Story Time
Cookies & Cream | 14650 Washington Street, Haymarket | 12:30 – 1:30pm

Join Cookies & Cream on Fridays for story time for books, or costumes, or coloring activities and other surprises. After stories, they bring out an activity like blocks or train tracks for kiddies to play together. As the weather warms up, they sometimes do story time outside on the deck. Whatever the theme or wherever we sit, it’s always a great get-together! Pre-K cups of ice cream are available during Story Time for $1.99!

Virginia Gold Cup
Great Meadow | 5089 Old Tavern Road, The Plains | 10am – 7:30pm

Come enjoy the running of the world famous Virginia Gold Cup steeplechase race. The Virginia Gold Cup is a grand Spring tradition as well as a fixture on the social calendar. Run in Fauquier County since 1922 and attended by over 50,000 spectators, this race is one of the largest and most popular sporting events in the greater Washington metropolitan area. Race day features six hurdle and timber horses races, Jack Russell Terrier races, tent, tailgate and hat contests, and vendor booths for shopping.

CAPAC Presents…. A Raisin in the Sun
Hylton Performing Arts Center | 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas | 2pm and 7pm

The Creative and Performing Arts Center presents “A Raisin in the Sun,” a drama set in the aftermath of World War II. It follows the Youngers, an African-American family living together in an apartment in Chicago. Following the death of their patriarch, the family tries to determine what to do with the substantial insurance payment they’ll soon receive. Playwright Lorraine Hansberry was the first African-American female to have a play performed on Broadway. Because of its success, she was the first African-American playwright and the youngest American to win a New York Critics’ Circle award.

Leaseweb Manassas Airshow 2019
Manassas Regional Airport | 10600 Harry J. Parrish Blvd, Manassas | 10am – 4pm

The Manassas Airport Regional Business Alliance is proud to present the 2019 Manassas Airshow – an all-day, family-friendly event featuring aerial performers from across the USA. There will be food, fun, flying and lots to do. The Manassas Airport Regional Business Alliance aims to help inspire the next generation of aviators and aviation professionals by hosting those from around the aviation industry to put their organizations on display for you to see. The aviation industry needs more pilots and professionals now more than ever before. Will you take flight?

The RAIN DATE for the airshow is May 5th from 10am to 4pm. The decision to use the rain date will occur on Friday May 3rd by 12pm.
