What is Women Build?

Wondering what ‘Women Build’ is all about? COME FIND OUT! Bring a friend (or 2) along- everyone is welcome! This event is a no commitment, fun time to learn about Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build. Enjoy great food and drinks, meet fun people, and maybe win some prizes.

Friday, November 8
PSO Unplugged at Gloria Faye Dingus Music Alliance
92 Main Street, Warrenton | 8 – 10pm

Join the Piedmont Symphony Orchestra for an evening of rock “unplugged” rocking out to favorites from The Beatles, Jefferson Airplane, Bowie, The Moody Blues, and more. Don’t miss the PSO’s debut performance at Gloria’s for a memorable night up close and personal!

JUST ANNOUNCED: The chance to interact with your favorite PSO performers and meet the band while enjoying wine and light refreshments! This exclusive Meet and Greet is at 6:30pm before the concert, and tickets are extremely limited.

Fall Cupcake Class at Simply Desserts
14035 Promenade Commons Street, Gainesville| 1 – 3pm

Students will receive step-by-step instructions to create gorgeous Fall flowers on cupcakes using Swiss Buttercream. Each student will take home 6 decorated cupcakes. All supplies are included in the class.

Diamond Alley at Club Eclipse
5615 Wellington Road, Gainesville | 9:30pm – 1am

Diamond Alley, one of D.C.’s most popular bands, is a 5 piece Dance/Rock/Funk/Soul band, performing an exciting and diverse mix of contemporary and classic hits as well as the bands own popular original tunes. Diamond Alley is best known throughout the Mid Atlantic region for their unusual vocal talent (all 5 members sing), outstanding live performance, and audience rapport.

Saturday, November 9
Brownie Dancer Badge Program at Allegro
39 Culpeper Street, Warrenton | 9 – 10am

This program at Allegro Community School for the Arts will cover all the requirements to earn the Brownie Dancer Badge. Girls will perform a proper dance warm up, learn about different styles of dance, try out different steps, and help choreograph their own routine to be performed for parents/leaders at the end of the program.

The program instructor, Melissa Pieja, has been dancing since she was a Brownie! She is both a dancer and a girl scout leader and will ensure all requirements are met to earn the badge. Melissa has a background in tap, jazz, and musical theatre and has performed in and served as choreographer for several musicals around the DC area.

Please come dressed in comfortable clothes you can move in and a water bottle. If you don’t have a pair of dance shoes, socks are fine.

Ash Salon + Spa Launch Party
14945 Washington Street, Haymarket| 1 – 4pm

Ash Salon is so excited to share their new space with you. Join them for the Spa Launch Party! Enjoy an afternoon filled with mini spa treatments and product giveaways over light fare and mimosas. Meet the new spa staff and tour the new spa wing with two treatments rooms and spa lounge.

Bodies in Motion 5k & 10k at the WARF
800 Waterloo Road, Warrenton | 7 – 10am

With an emphasis on fun and community, the event will include a children’s activity zone, surprise emcee, and aerobic race warm-up led by a guest professional instructor. The event typically brings in more than 300 race registrants, and 100+ participating businesses, by way of sponsorships, tabletop exhibitors, and event contributions such as free breakfast for participants and live entertainment.
