Corn Maze in The Plains
4501 Old Tavern Road, The Plains

Northern Fauquier’s most popular corn maze is open for the season this weekend! The fall festival atmosphere will make memories that will last a lifetime. Finding your way through the five-acre corn maze had been an eagerly looked forward to annual event for local families, from toddlers to teenagers to adults. Each maze wanderer enters the maze armed with crayon, flag and a blank survival guide on a mission to discover clues to help them navigate their way through the maze and to complete a map to take home. If the challenge grows too high you can always wave the flag frantically to signal the “corn cop” to come to your rescue. Try it at night for a spookier experience! But there’s much more than the maze! It’s also a full fall festival, with pumpkin patches, hayrides, farm animals and petting zoo, obstacle course, outdoor play area, country store, and food for purchase. Weekly on Sunday, and Saturday, until November 4, 2018. https://www.cornmazeintheplains.com

On this very special weekend each year, we invite all artists to Philip Carter Winery to share in the vineyard grounds by setting up on easel and painting the experience with the landscape. Every participating artist receives a complimentary glass of wine and a 25 percent discount on any wine purchase. The weekend of art events will also include an exhibition by the Orlean Artist’s Collective, a group of local artists that gather to share and nurture a passion for art in a cooperative environment, while providing an additional cultural opportunity in our beloved northern Piedmont community. Twenty five percent of all sales proceeds from the art exhibit will be donated to the Orlean Fire House Building Fund. The weekend will also include En Plein Air Paint and Sip Event with Creative Mankind. Learn to be an artist, even if you have no experience!
