DC Improv and Club Eclipse are partnering to bring back Comedy Night! Meet some of the region’s best comedic talent when they take the stage and bring “A list” talent to Gainesville. Comedians Andy Haynes, Mike Finazzo, Tim Miller, Martin Amini, and Matt Bergman will take center stage for a night of laughter. No one does a night out on the town like these guys! Northern Virginia Therapeutic Riding Program Ride to Thrive Polo Classic
Chetwood Park, The Plains
Guests will enjoy an afternoon of polo, live and silent auctions, music, drinks, and dining on a private estate. Gates will open at 1 p.m., with the match beginning at 3 p.m. The day will also include a riding demonstration, a live auction, and a cupcake divot stomp, with music and desserts following the event. Recommended attire is summer chic, with flat shoes for walking on grass fields. This event will benefit NVTRP’s mission to provide equine-assisted activities to children and adults with disabilities, youth-at-risk, and military service personnel and their families. This highly anticipated annual fun family festival celebrates the diversity and talent of visual, literary, and performing artists and ensembles from the greater Prince William County area. The event offers hands-on arts-related activities for children and adults, as well as food and craft vendors with items for sale. Admission and parking to the event is free, event held rain or shine. The event features live performing arts, visual arts displays, book signings, instrument petting zoo, poetry readings, arts classes, dance demonstrations, sing-a-longs, and more! Bob Sinclair Presents: Fauquier’s Free State

Mr. Sinclair’s talk will focus on the history of Fauquier County’s Free State, an area steeped in intrigue, mystery, unclear boundaries, lawlessness, and populated by a fascinating cast of characters including self-imposed “kings.” Where is the Free State? What is the Free State? When was it created? Who were its first inhabitants and why did they come here? These and many other questions will be answered about this colorful area of the county. Mr. Sinclair, a native of The Plains, is a well-known Fauquier County educator, having served over many decades in a myriad of capacities from classroom teacher to principal. He is a frequent lecturer on the history of Fauquier County. As the president and co-founder of the Fauquier Heritage and Preservation Foundation, a position he has held since 1993, he is well-qualified to deliver an informative and interesting talk on the county’s history. https://www.facebook.com/events/202710790413583/

Bodies in Motion 5k & 10k

Run to Give Back! The 7th annual Bodies in Motion 5k & 10k and Fun Run presented by Blue Ridge Orthopaedic & Spine Center is a fundraising event through the Blue Ridge Orthopaedic Foundation (BROF) to benefit non profit charities in Fauquier, Culpeper and Prince William Counties. BROF serves the greater Piedmont region charities specializing in providing medical relief, food, shelter, and/or children’s services. To date, BROF has donated $160,000 to more than two dozen local organizations just from proceeds from the previous Bodies in Motion 5k & 10k races.
