Take the Challenge!

The 2019 Town of Warrenton Wellness Challenge

Health challenges are all the rage now, and the Town of Warrenton Parks and Recreation Department is joining in the quest for healthy living by bringing the PATH Foundation-sponsored Town of Warrenton Wellness Challenge to our community.

The eight-week challenge, from June 3 through July 27 this year, is designed to help you develop or maintain exercise goals, healthy eating habits, and overall well-being in body, mind, and spirit. With specific emphasis on nutrition, physical activity, and mindfulness, participants will be inspired to become happier, healthier, and more energetic. Parks and Recreation encourages all community members to join in, but only Town of Warrenton residents are eligible for prizes at the conclusion of the Challenge.

The Challenge requires that you visit or participate in a number of activities throughout Warrenton in June and July, and fill out your Ticket to Health pass at each location with validation signatures and codes. Activities for the Challenge include geocaching at town parks, walks on the Greenway, Rady Fit (a program offering free fitness classes at Rady Park), Wednesday Walks at the WARF, and more activities designed for the challenge.

Visiting the WARF, the Warrenton Visitors Center, the Farmers Market, and the Town of Warrenton Wellness Challenge table at First Friday on June 7, and other Parks and Recreation scheduled and pop-up events will also gain you signatures on your Ticket to Health.

Other activities around town that support the Challenge will include Tuesday Trivia every other week on the TWWC Group Facebook Page and Taste of Wellness week (July 15-19) when participating local restaurants will be offering specialized healthy menus.

The Challenge will wrap up with the Town Community Picnic and Movie Night on Saturday, July 27 at 6 p.m. (Rain date July 28) at the WARF. Bring your own picnic or visit one of the food trucks that will be there, and hang out with your family while watching Pirates of the Carribean. If you are a town of Warrenton resident and have completed eight of the eleven events on your Ticket to Health, you will be eligible to enter the grand prize raffle.

Enroll by visiting bit.ly/2VHqdsN or picking up a form at the front desk at the WARF.
