About “Arm’s Distance”: Set in an early 20th century town, the culture relies heavily on citizens remaining apart from one another to protect one another’s decency. The town’s theatre decides to put on a show that will hopefully meet the society’s standards, recruiting some of their best players to be a part of it, under the stipulation that everyone remain far apart from one another at all times if they want a part. Several of the actors take this as a challenge and come to grips with a variety of ways to be at arms-distance. Through spacious dancing, coy looks, and flirtatious banter, TORCH presents its own original backstage dance-ical rendition of social distancing to pull on your heart-strings!
